5. Superintendent Reports:
---A. WHS Students of the Month: -Halley Mills & Christian Bosold. Congratulations & Plaques were presented to the Students, (Dr. Bosold proudly presenting the plaque to his son) and Board President Beaty expressed the Board’s thanks to the Parents, for the excellent job they’ve done with their children.

---B. Kudos for Kids, presented by Secretary Sandra Strickland

---C. Upcoming Middle School Facility Projects: the Superintendent described several proposed Upgrade Projects, that are badly needed at Memorial Middle School; that have been neglected till now. These include a Major Overhaul of the Schools outdated Electrical System, Renovation and Repairs to Leaky & Non-Compliant ADA Student Bathrooms, Repairs and Partial Re-roofing of Leaky Roofs, and a new Access Door to a Storage Shed. Some of these projects are awaiting Structural Engineering Studies. Part of the repairs would be funded with Federal Dollars, and would be using American Made Products.

6. Items of Unfinished Business:
--- A. Consider / Action on the offer, recommended by Dr. Bosold, to lease the Stokes Property, to Mr. Joe McLemore for $125.00 per year. Mr. McLemore intends to run cattle on the Property. He has agreed to shred the pastures twice annually, and keep the fences repaired. : APPROVED

---B. Consider / Action on the Nomination of the Candidate for Board of Directors, for the Wood County Appraisal District. Mr. Dan Strickland to continue as the District’s Representative. : As Recommended : APPROVED

7. Items of New Business:
---A. Consider / Action on the Request to Advertise for Proposals for the extensive Memorial Middle School “B” Building Electrical Project. This would replace the 1947 wiring in the entire building. : APPROVED

----NOTE: Next Scheduled Regular WISD Board Meeting is October 26, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. (Normally the Board meets on the 3rd Monday of the month, at the Westbrook Administrative Building.)
