The Political Views of an All-American Teen

Our Eternal Fight

Upon the completion of his second term as President of the United States, George Washington spoke of the many challenges the recently founded country would have to confront in the near future. In his Farewell Address, Washington warned his fellow Americans about the treacherous decision to form political parties.

“… I have already intimidated to you the danger of parties in the State, with particular reference to the founding of them on geographical discriminations. Let me now take a more comprehensive view, and warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally…it [the decision to form political parties] is seen in its great rankness, and is truly their [United States] worst enemy… It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riots and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.”

What did Washington mean when he said, “It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption…”? Well, to give you a basic idea, the 1944 Socialist Party candidate for the office of President of the United States, Norman Thomas, said this in a 1944 defeat speech, “…I no longer need to run as a Presidential candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform.”

Thomas addressed his somewhat eager audience with a strangely confident tone when he gave that speech. His tone was considered strange because his speech was meant to tell the public that, after six attempts to become elected as the president, he was finally giving up. Giddiness usually isn't seen when someone admits defeat publicly.

If you're not a real big history buff, then you might have thought the Socialist Party is just one of those small, unspoken political parties that you always seem to overlook as you check off your ballots.

You, my poor fellow, are highly mistaken if this applies to you.

No, the Socialist Party for the United States of America, as is its full title, is an anti-American, “Capitalist Pig”-hating group of Socialists that was started by an angry union. The union was angry because its members didn't earn enough money working for the government. The Socialist Party has a unionesque motto and a socialist constitution on which they swear their “collective” lives. They decry the fact that America is not as regulated as it should be, that the people have way too much free will, and that your Capitalist system will poison the rest of the world.

During that 1944 speech, Thomas said this, “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But under the name of Liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without even knowing how it happened.”

Hmmm… “under the name of Liberalism…”

Going back to Washington’s warning, political parties do open one country to the influence of another. During the 2008 election campaigns, many of the Democratic competitors eagerly claimed to be Liberalists. After the elections, however, those who spoke of Liberalism as being a beacon of light to lead America away from crisis began to denounce Liberalism as they would blasphemy.

Why is that? Well, according to our first president, under the Constitution, that is, “…foreign influence and corruption… finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions.”

Basically, what Washington warned us about is that foreign countries will always despise America, and that as long as she is a threat to Globalism, those who support Globalism will attempt to eradicate her.

Like I often say to myself, it is easy to overwhelm the weak-minded. The politicians who once called themselves Liberals-who now detest such a title- have done so because they think that they can play with our emotions, just as the Disney Channel does with little kids when they show commercials for the “Friends for Change” movement against global warming. Believe it or not, the easiest way into a nation’s head is through its heart.

If those who despise America can’t infiltrate it through the softness of its citizens’ skulls, they will try to find a new method of breaking and entering. The United States has one of the biggest economies in the world, which makes our economy such a big target. We found this much out, even though is took quite some time to realize such, on September 11, 200 when the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers were demolished by hijacked passenger planes.

Such an act of terrorism must not be forgotten for more that one most acknowledged reason. We, as Americans, must not forget in the memory of those 3,000 who that day paid the ultimate price for their liberties. In addition, we must not forget for the sake of our United States ,so that we can always be aware of the fact that, even though we have, for the most part, held back violent terrorism, we still face the silent types of terrorism.

Have you never heard of this silent terrorism? It has many different names, such as Liberalism, Socialism, and “in its greatest rankness”, Communism.

Our forefathers knew of our terrible foe, and many of them have tried to warn us to keep our minds sharp so that we would stand a chance of surviving if we were to confront it. In my somewhat biased opinion, we have been battling silent terrorism since the sun first rose over those first thirteen colonies on July 4, 1776. Until we actually defeat Communism, and its silent predecessors of Liberalism and Socialism, the war against Communistic terrorism is our eternal fight.

Presently, our brave soldiers are confronting our deadly foe in the Middle Eastern countries with which we are at war, while the rest of us at home combat with those very politicians who once praised Liberalism. Unfortunately, before we can truly defeat the violent form of terrorism, we must separate ourselves from our sacred political parties and unite under one agenda: American Capitalism.
