| SAYING "THANK YOU" By
To use the title of a song by Adler & Hearne "It Matters to the Heart." That has been the essence of Crossroads Music Company since Adler & Hearne first started it, and it continues to be at the core of what Crossroads is evolving to. As most people know, Crossroads recently moved from the building on Main Street to the building next to the Winnsboro Art Center, and work is underway to renovate that building.
Crossroads is currently using the Art Center for concerts, and the reception was held there, too. Adler & Hearne were the headliners for a the first of a series of fundraising concerts that will continue for several more weeks. Kacey Musgraves is up next on April 24th. At the recent reception, guests were also entertained by local singers and musicians. Amy Adams, who won the Texas Star competition that was held at Crossroads last year did a set with Wes Hendrix (Slightly Tilted) and Gus Gustafson on harmonica. (L-R: Gus, Wes, Amy)
Work is progressing well for Crossroads and Stephen is grateful to his partner, Denice Grugel for her efforts to promote the concerts, as well as finding volunteers and supporters. "She is amazing," Stephen also wanted to acknowledge John Alexander, who has been a tremendous help in securing support for Crossroads, and Mike Monk, who is in charge of construction. "They both have stepped up to help ensure that Crossroads lives and thrives," Stephen said. "We are so grateful to them and to all the people who have taken Crossroads into their hearts." |
