Schedule of Events **************** AAARRFFF FEST Animal photos and original art are currently being solicited by the Winnsboro Center for the Arts for a gallery display of animal art and photos in March and April. Photos and original art can be dropped off at the Center Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Entries are $2 each or 3 for $5. Small cash prizes and certificates of artistic excellence will be awarded at the “ARRFFF!” Festival” on April 17th in the following categories: l. Adult, 2.Youth, 3. Professional, 4. Amateur, 5. Dog, 6. Cat, 7. Horse, 8. Unique. Entries will be accepted until April 10th. Entries should identify the appropriate categories (such as “Adult, Amateur, Horse”) and include name, address, telephone number and email address. We will be pleased to have any favorite stories you have about your best friend as well. The art and photo contest display helps to celebrate “Woman’s or Man’s Best Friend” with a festival on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 11:00am to 4:00pm, at the Arts Center, 200 Market Street in Winnsboro. The “AARRF!” Fest is sponsored by the Winnsboro Center for the Arts, APET/SPCA and the City of Winnsboro Animal Shelter to raise money for low-cost or no-cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics for dogs and cats in Wood County and for the Arts Center. A “Pet Parade” begins at 11:00am, with pets in costumes and cute hats parading along Winnsboro’s historic Market Street, entrance to the Cultural Arts District designated in November, 2009 by the Texas Commission on the Arts. Booths at the festival include a “Puppy Picasso” art workshop where the pup gets paint on his paws and creates an artwork, a professional photography booth to take pictures of you and your pet, pet and companion Caricatures, Build-a-Bear, “Tricks” Competition, Costume Competition, APET Information Booth, obedience training demonstration, door prizes, snacks and a Silent Auction. Classes are scheduled over the next six weeks, with a cost of $12 per session. This is a great way to learn stretches you can do for a lifetime.
