QUITMAN COMMUNITY THEATRE PRESENTS

A GREAT MUSICAL COMEDY

Mark your calendars now for QCT's next production, The Sanders Family Christmas, which is the second installment of the Smoke on the Mountain musical trilogy.

(The Cast of Smoke on the Mountain)

Performances will be October 29,30,31 and November 5,6,7 at the Carroll Green Civic Center. The October 29th Opening Night Gala will be hosted by the First Baptist Church of Quitman. The Sanders Family Christmas is underwritten by Wood County National Bank.

The play takes place in the sanctuary of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. It is Wednesday night, December 24, 1941...seventeen days after Pearl Harbor and FDR's declaration of war. The gospel-singing Sanders Family first performed at Mount Pleasant Baptist in 1938. Since then, they have returned to Mount Pleasant each year at Homecoming. This is their last performance before the war forces the group to disband.

QCT's rousing production of this show includes a cast of 16 singers and musicians performing lots of old-time Christmas favorites, as well as new material written for the show. Directed by Cora Beaty, long-time QCT veteran who also helmed the wildly successful original Smoke on the Mountain in 2008, this show is sure to please audiences of all ages.
